Sometime in the last 6 months I started walking. I knew I had it in the deep recesses of my DNA as my dad always walked 2x per day. There are multiple “loops” around our house that I enjoy, I love bringing Bogey our dog, and I always have my phone and return phone calls while walking or listen to music.
Walking is a low-impact exercise, easy on your body, and can help get you to a place you want to be with health. Many times when people want to meet with me I say, “Sure, bring your walking shoes!”
10 Reasons to walk:
- Lowers Bad Cholesterol
- Raises Good Cholesterol
- Lowers blood pressure
- Reduces risk of type 2 Diabetes
- Manages your weight
- Improves your mood
- Helps you stay strong and fit
- Gets you out with your dog
- Gives you a “presence” in your neighborhood
- Two things at once: walk and either return calls or listen to online sermons
The two main reasons I walk: trim my waistline and improve my health. It motivates me to get out there, do something, on a daily basis.
Have a great Friday,
Eric
